Bred in America from large European donkeys such as the Andalusian, Majorcan, Catalonian and Poitou.
Size: Commonly between 11hh and 13hh
Originating from donkeys brought to Australia mainly during the nineteenth century for use as working animals, especially in the hot, dry interior, and then released to breed unchecked into a feral Australian breed, adapting to the harsh conditions of the Australian outback.

Bred and used extensively in England and Ireland. Well known on English beaches where they would be used for children’s rides.
